Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information and Updates

Although the Summer 2021 session started as a remote host, CalUMS-VA began making plans for the summer and fall quarters, which includes moving toward pre-pandemic operations by the end of the current quarter. We will have backup plans in place if some level of limitations on activities is necessary depending on the severity of COVID-19 at the time, but we are hopeful that the increased availability of COVID vaccines and increased herd immunity by August will allow campus operations to return to normal.

Based on our current plan, the summer quarter classes will continue to occur in an online format during the first eight weeks of the quarter. The remaining classes will resume face-to-face instruction on Monday, August 30, 2021. We look forward to providing our students with a full campus experience that will include in-person classes and in-person student engagement opportunities, extracurricular activities, and campus support services. The final decision will be announced on August 16.

We encourage you to visit the CDC’s website for the most up-to-date information available.
